We have compiled answers to the questions most often asked about our Western Beauty Institute community. Of course, you can get more information at any time, by simply calling us (see phone numbers below). We will be happy to answer all your questions.
How soon can I start?
We have classes starting every week. You can start as soon as you contact the Admissions Department for an appointment, bring in the documentation requested, and complete our simple enrollment procedures. After enrollment, orientations take place every Friday afternoon, and you can start classes the following Monday or Tuesday. That’s how fast you can start the career you’ve been dreaming of!
Do you offer day or evening classes?
For your convenience, we offer both day and evening courses!
What hours are the classes?
Our daytime class hours are Tuesday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Our evening class hours are Monday through Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
How long does it take?
For our Cosmetology program, our daytime course completion takes approximately one year, and evening course completion takes approximately one year and three months.
For our Estheology program, our daytime course completion takes approximately four-and-a-half months, and evening course completion takes approximately six months.
The actual length of time for course completion depends on individual hours of attendance completed per week.
Do you offer classes in Spanish?

Do I need a high school diploma or GED? Do I need to be 18?
If you have a High School diploma or GED, you may apply at the age of 16 or 17.
If you do not have a High School diploma or GED, you may still qualify to attend Western Beauty Institute. You must be 18 and pass a one-hour ATB (Ability-to-Benefit) test, which is administered to prospective students each Monday afternoon at our Lancaster campus and each Tuesday afternoon at our Panorama City campus. Our Admissions personnel will provide you with information on how to arrange for the test.
Is Financial Aid available?
We are accredited by the National Association of Cosmetology Arts & Sciences and approved by the United States Department of Education to offer financial aid grants and/or direct loans to those who qualify.

We are also approved for the training of veterans and eligible persons under the provisions of Title 38, United States Code.
We offer payment plans for those who do not otherwise qualify for any of our financial aid packages.
